First registered in 1990, this 944 Turbo has only covered 21,500miles since a mechanical restoration (including new engine) and has been pampered for the last 10 years with a money no object philosophy.
I have owned this car since Jan 2007 purchasing it from Simon Peckham through Jon Mitchell at JMG Porsche. It is a fully loaded specification 944 Turbo SE in Guards Red with all the usual features associated with this model ie Air Conditioning, Electric Sunroof, mirrors, seats central locking etc

Engine:-
    :    Fully rebuilt just 21,500 miles ago (Dec 2005) , blueprinted 2.5 litre Turbo block, with Nikasil plated bores.
    :    Con rods re rounded and balanced
    :    Crank ground and balanced
    :    Flywheel and clutch cover balanced.
    :    Bare engine, Internaly and externally items blasted and hot washed
    :    Cylinder head carefully blueprinted with new valves and guides, refaced seats, mild inlet port modifications to improve gas flow.
    :    Widefire cylinder head gasket
    :    Uprated Studs and fasteners
    :    New Clutch and all service items replaced as new (ie belts rollers tensioners Water pump...)
    :    Every single nut, bolt and fastener replaced in engine bay.
    :    Engine Management System remapped (ECU reprogrammed) by JMG for torque and drivability
    :    New Garrett Ball-bearing Hybrid Turbocharger (giving higher boost at low revs and spools up much quicker -no lag!)
    :    Tial Dual Port Wastegate MBC
    :    Catalytic converter delete
    :    Boost Gauge (Racetech B2.5)
    :    Air/Fuel Ratio (Auto Gauge) 20 colour LED, in a circular array showing degrees of Lean (Red) ,Optimal(Yellow) and Rich(Green) mixture strength. Both mounted in a separate nacelle on drivers side A pillar)

    :    Original Radio Cassette player replaced by :- Pioneer DAB/MP3/CD player + Sony XM-504X Car Stereo Amplifier and JL Audio Speakers VR650-CSi (professionally installed.)
    :    Toad Ai606 Thatcham Category 1 security alarm and Immobiliser fitted at JMG in Jan 2007
    :    Dis-car-nect fitted to Battery terminal (Immobilises the starter)
    :    Hamilton Classic Red Supertex Luxury Indoor Cover included.
    :    Fire Extinguisher (exp 2019).
    :    Tyre-Pal Tyre Pressure and Temperature Monitoring system (fitted Dec 2011)

The subtle mods to the Engine and Turbo raised the Std 250bhp to approx. 318bhp and Torque to 377 ft lbf making it a very potent driving experience. (Note :- It is the highest Torque 2.5L Engine in the 944 Power League and the 2nd highest overall to LIL, a 3.2L Modified Engine - see Power/Torque Graph on Rick Cannells Power League web site).

Annual visits for last 10 years to JMG Porsche for MOT (to 28 May 2017) and servicing (TLC with no expense spared!) has ensured this excellent condition car is being well looked after. Latest Major service carried out 17 May 2016 including Belts (after 3 years!)
Belts, etc were replaced in May 2009 then again in May 2013 with water pump (+ head gasket for safety after 8yrs). Now onto it's 2nd Service booklet showing FSH.
This Engine as you would expect (with ony 21,500 miles on it) runs superbly having Silkolene Pro-R 15w-50 oil and filter changes at 500, 1500, 1350, 3800, 1900, and 2000 (annually or less) Mile intervals. Gearbox has Swepco Oil (changed May 2015 :- gear changes really sweet, new JMG Front Shift and Precision Shift fitted in 2014)
Even though the engine can give a very potent drive it is not at the expense of tractability, it can be driven very sedately off boost if required (for those quieter less adventurous drives).

This car has been extremely reliable. No breakdowns over the last 10 years covering 18,250 miles.
The car has been kept in a Brick dry lined and insulated Garaged with Dehumidifiers and heating + Indoor cover, (it has not been below 4deg C since my ownership).
The body and paintwork is in excellent condition. The sills were re-checked and re-Dynaxed and a full body respray with a modern clear top coat carried out in Sept 2014 which should ensure paintwork retains its Guards Red Colour without fading for many years. The Wheels were blasted and resprayed (+ clear-coat) with the 7 D90 Arcs masked and painted black. The underbody was also cleaned and a respray applied to finish the job.

This is my 3rd (and last!) Porsche 944 since becoming a Tipec member in 2004. (Previously owing a 2.7 and an S2 Cabriolet). I had intended to keep it until age prevents me from driving, unfortunately now well into retirement family commitments and a change in circumstances necessitate me having to part with this wonderful Motor.

Epilogue:-
The reliability and sheer driving pleasure is a testament to the quality of workmanship and attention to detail that Simon applied during his rebuild and the 10 years annual servicing at TLC at JMG Porsche. I feel very privileged to have owned this car and can only hope it is purchased by someone who will get as much enjoyment and excitement out of it as I have and hopefully treat it as well. I doubt whether you will find a car that has the last 10 years history it has :- keeping it in such good condition maintaining it’s superior quality and performance.

Over the last 30 years I have probably worked on, and driven more 944 Turbos than anyone else in the UK. This particular car might not be the lowest mileage, although technically still low for its age, it is probably not only the best drive for smoothness and comfort, but also for pure performance without being even remotely uncivilised.

To appreciate this car you not only need to see it and drive it for yourself, but you also need to meet the owner, who I hope will not mind me saying is a retired gentleman with boundless love and enthusiasm for this car, but has now come to the decision that he does not take it out as often as he should and it is time for someone else to enjoy this car.
